The "rapping soccer player" Lee Soon-min (29-Gwangju FC) is back in action. He scored a crown jewel goal against La Liga giants Atletico Madrid to lead Team K League to victory.
Team K-League's all-star squad won the first leg of the Coupang Play Series against Atletico Madrid 3-2 at 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, thanks to Lee Soon-min's goal.
Atletico set the tone in the first half and took the lead with a goal from Toma Lima. Team K-League fought back in the second half and Anton equalized with a fantastic header, only to fall behind again through Martin Carlos. Palocevic then equalized from the penalty spot (PK).
It looked like the game would end in a tie, but a hero was born. Second-half substitute Lee Soon-min scored a theatrical goal in stoppage time. He received a pass from Jerso and calmly fired a shot that shook the net. After the goal, Lee celebrated with his teammates.
"I'm very happy to have the opportunity to play with another good team and good players," he said after the game in the Mixed Zone. I'm grateful to coach Hong Myung-bo and all the staff for giving me this opportunity," he said. "I actually didn't expect to score a goal like that, but I guess good things happen when you work hard at what you do. I'm glad it will be a good memory," he said of his goal.
When asked if he had an instinct for the goal when he got the chance, he said, "Jerso made a good pass and the ball came to me the way I thought it would, and I thought I had to hit it nonstop. It was just a matter 안전놀이터 of putting it in the back of the net. After I scored, I was a little nervous, but the fans were cheering for me, so it felt real. It was a memorable moment from the moment I entered the game to the final goal."
"In the first half, I saw Koke playing in the center of the field and I was very impressed. I thought he had just arrived in Korea two days ago, and I thought he was on vacation in Asia. His body was light, his passing timing, his touch was relaxed and concise. I felt and learned a lot."
Lee is known for being a rapping soccer player. He goes by the rap name 'wero'. When asked if he had any rap lyrics or beats in mind after the game, he said, "I think I'll come up with something a little brighter. I think it's going to be something about spitting out my heart while feeling sorry for myself," he laughed. "I like rap a lot, and I want to make a song that tells my story, but I want to make a song that many people can feel comfortable and enjoy listening to," he said.
